60 High-Definition IP Camera System
After successfully winning the tender for the installation of 60 high-definition IP camera system at a school in Cambridgeshire , we were set the challenge of circumnavigating cables through the school, and to link the building with no ductwork available or budgeted for.
There were very few dropped ceilings and limited removable ceiling tiles.
We fitted over 2000m of white 25mm conduit, accessories and clips, high level catenary wires and metal flexible conduit. Not one cable was surface clipped, which improved the systems integrity, deterred malicious attacks and created an all-round superior install than the original analogue solution.
Our engineers were on site for 5 weeks and installed a dedicated cat6 security network which consisted of 6 network and POE switches, 2 NVR’s and a video management suite with a 58” 4k monitor. The system had a mix or vary focal 6mp bullets and fixed 2.8mm turret cameras.
Future Proof System
The implementation of the CCTV system has helped reduce antisocial behaviour and vandalism. Although the site is spread out, only a few areas were left with limited cover of which the school hope to tackle when expanding the system in the future.
This highlights another advantage of network IP CCTV systems where the original fitted infrastructure can be designed to make additions more affordable with less man hours needed to install extra cameras in the future.
